Amarildo Souza do Amaral, better known as Amarildo (born 2 October 1964) is a former Brazilian footballer who played as a forward.[1]
In his career he played matches in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A for four different teams; Americano (1983; 6 matches),[2] Botafogo (1984–1985; 12), Internacional (1986–1987; 26 matches) and São Paulo FC (1995; 11).[3] He also played a match for Bahia in the Copa do Brasil in 1996.[4]
After his spell at Botafogo he played for Inter Limeira and XV de Piracicaba in the Brazilian lower levels.[5] In 1986–87 he played in the Brazilian top-flight with Internacional,[3] and Amarildo played for Taubate in 1987 and 1988.[5]
He played in La Liga in Spain with Celta de Vigo (1988–89), and then again with CD Logroñés in 1992–93.[1] In between his spells in Spain he played in Italy for Lazio and then Cesena.[5] After his time at Logrones he had a number of stints with Portuguese side Famalicao, and he also had further spells in Brazil with Uniao Sao Joao and Bahia.[5]
